I was inspired today for numerous reasons but one which I believe is life changing. I believe a moment can change your life but it all begins with a choice.
Sounds philosophical but it really is quite a simple concept to grasp which I would love to share with you.
- Why do some people adapt a healthy lifestyle long term & others sabotage their fat loss success?
- Why do some people live with peace & joy whilst others anxiety & depression despite their circumstances?
- Why do some people live with preventable sickness & disease whilst others live with energy, health & wellness?
- Why do some people whine & moan whilst others are grateful whether they are in front or behind?
- Why do some people achieve greatness whilst others are riddled with envy & jealousy & never seem to move forward from trivial things like gossip, unforgiveness & bitterness regardless of how well they appear to be doing at life?
The answer to all of the above is simple.
It's a choice...
We are responsible for our thoughts & our choices & if you are not aware of how your choices impact the above statements I am afraid you are at the brink of living a toxic life & toxicity eventually will kill us. Not just physically, but emotionally & spiritually.
Our mind is a powerful thing & studies done by leading neuro scientist (study of the brain) Dr Caroline Leaf have proven that the mind & brain are two separate things. Your mind controls your brain not the other way round.
So if science has proven that our choices in life can grow our brain either negatively or positively this is life changing stuff!
According to Caroline's studies, every thought, action & decision we make has a direct influence on how our brain grows & changes.
So what do we do with this new information? We take responsibility for our thought life...
We live in a culture where we are exposed to toxic environments daily so we need to become aware of the toxic thoughts that plague our mind and choose to react positively to these thoughts rather than let them manifest & grow into an action or decision that could impact our brain negatively & ultimately our health.
I reflected on why some of my past clients have succeeded on their fat loss journey & why some haven't & I came to the conclusion that the unsuccessful ones have meditated on toxic thoughts whilst the successful ones have overcome a toxic thought life & have taken responsibility for their health.
There are many ways to overcome a toxic thought life but some of the most simple steps to practice are gratitude, love & kindness on a daily basis. When you nurture & love others you will nurture & love yourself & make good choices. Habits are developed over time so you have to stick at it if you want to overcome a toxic thought & change your brain.
