Finish your race well...

It’s not how you start it’s how you finish.

Don’t let your failures define how you’re going to finish the race. As the old saying goes; “The game is not over until the shredded lady sings ;)”

I have been thinking a lot lately about why we succeed or fail & even more so about the fact that all human beings were built with the ability to overcome, it’s whether you choose to take on that challenge.

Awareness is key

Our mind is such an amazing complex thing & we were given the ability to be self-aware or look at our life through a 3rd eye or an outsider’s perspective.

I believe facing your fears head on by becoming aware of why you fall short can change your life for forever & will ensure you finish your race in good health.

Who wants to get old & have to deal with disease and ill health? I am actually afraid to say it but the way things are going majority of people will be in the ill health category but right now & every other second of the day you have a choice to finish the race well & I know you will. You’re reading this right now which is changing your brain for the better!

Shame, guilt & comparison

How many times have you committed to eating better, exercising more often and taking those supplements consistently that are still sitting in the cupboard (you are probably thinking now…how does she know lol) only to last a couple of days then you drop off?

The shame of failure can absolutely put a halt on your progress. We begin to think I can’t do this, it’s too hard, I am hopeless etc. etc. Let me tell you today that you do not have to carry guilt and shame around with you.

You can overcome anything & remember EVERYONE has those days & EVERYONE has had those exact same struggles.

Be encouraged or inspired but NEVER compare your progress to anyone else as this can elevate the feelings of shame & guilt.

People only want you to see their highlight reel so in order to overcome guilt & shame we have to keep it real…get up keep moving keep running the race.

The company you keep

This is quite possibly one of the most effective ways to change your lifestyle. Make friends with people that value their health & eat well. Those that love talking about healthy recipes & new exercises will create an addiction to health!

We were not designed to run the race alone & we thrive when we are around positive people so be bold make a call and make a healthy date not a toxic one.

On the other hand hanging out with people that like to drink, smoke & eat take away food may not be the best move forward on finishing your race well. 

I would even go as far as staying away from negative, judgmental, gossipy & jealous people. They add absolutely no value to your life and will eventually suck you in to their toxicity if you are not careful!

Wanting more & more with no real solid reason or cause

Stress is the number one excuse for not eating healthy, training & taking your supplements. 100% hands down!

Work stress, emotional stress & financial stress are all major culprits for poor choices.

So what can we do about it? For emotional stress seeking professional can help you overcome. If it’s financial simply ask yourself what is a necessity & what isn’t?

I had a client once who put so much financial pressure on herself to have the flashy car, house, wardrobe etc.  She eventually went into a mental breakdown because she could not sustain what she believed was an envious lifestyle & lost everything including her health. She is one of many examples.

One truth I like to live my life by is;

If you are not content with a little you certainly won’t be with a lot.

I have seen it firsthand & I know that more money, fame and business success is not the answer to happiness. What I do know is that you cannot put a price on health. No Gucci bag or BMW will ever feel as good as the feeling of living inside a healthy body.

You only have one body shredders & this amazing gift is yours to look after & is absolutely priceless!
