Day 14 - Balancing Hormones Detox

4 week detox. Weeks 1 & 2


I am not a fan of the word detox. I much prefer the word cleanse as that is exactly what you are doing on this program. Cleaning out the body gently and as a result your mind. Not only has my little "cortisol pouch" of belly fat gone down, but my energy has increased & my mind is clearer & the best news is, I did not change my base nutrition like I have in the past which I remember being horrible! I simply cut stimulants out like coffee & cut down on those extra treats that sneak in & added in the oestrogen & fat loss detox supplementation


For me doing this cleanse or reboot was to allow my body to recover from a stressful period in the lead up to airing Extreme Shredder VIP training on this season of Shark Tank. I have lost count of the hrs spent preparing everything for the big night and the 2 weeks that followed. Lets just say my hormones did get a little out of whack.


My adrenaline was high which gave me the false or fake energy to stay up until 1am most nights after the show answering emails. I say "false" as the body releases excessive amounts of cortisol to enable us to do the job & cope with the stress that lack of sleep creates. The problem is it does not last & at some point we will burn out, get agitated and not only will our health suffer but so will our body fat composition. 


I wanted to blog my experience on the detox as I, after 2 weeks feel like a different person. Yes I may be not as subject to as much stress but certainly it is not slowing down anytime soon so my body needs to reset and re-balance so I can sustain the energy needed to keep growing my business. We need to remember also that our cortisol site is our long term stress site so it builds up overtime which is why we need intervals or rest & recovery from stress.

 


I recommend this detox to anyone who; 


  • Is subject to masses of stress that has accumulated overtime

  • Struggling to lose stubborn areas of body fat. In particular the lower belly & lower body

  • Is suffering mood disorders such as anxiety or depression 

  • Needs to re-energise and get that skip back in your step


Word of warning, this cleanse is not for the fainthearted  & unusual side effects can occur. I will write specifically about mine but I have had others complain of similar side effects usually lasting 1 - 4 days whilst you are in the cleaning process.


Day 1 - 3


Headaches. Mine were intense as I do like a black coffee but more than that the liver cleanse tablets were starting to work

Bloating. I felt like I was double the size. Not pretty but I know it was the toxins starting to get agitated as they were commanded to leave my body & boy were they angry!

Nausea. I admittedly had not been in a great routine with my probiotic pre Shark Tank so I knew it was doing the job rebuilding my gut wall. This probiotic is like no other & when you get through that initial discomfort you will reap such reward

Tired. Obviously all of the above make you not want to get up in the am! But I got through it!


I need my calories as I had to teach VIP & work so lucky this cleanse makes you not cut essential food groups out of your diet. It just makes you think again how powerful adding supplementation alone can be!


Day 4 - 14


Day 4 was a breakthrough! I was training & part way through my workout I had an "ah-ha" moment that "oh man I feel good I could keep going moment" This has continued. The drop in my tummy has been evident which I really started to see around day 7.


Once the 4 weeks is up I will heading back onto my Healthy Body Foundation Pack for maintenance.  I truly recommend this cleanse as it is your one stop shop. Awesome results & my diet did not have to change. I simply cut down on stimulants like coffee. I personally do not eat much fruit except post training so it's also awesome to have this option if you have a sweet tooth. Although I am pretty much at the goal I wanted to achieve I will write again about my 4 week mark & than what I am going to do for maintenance.
